'We Have Many Competent and Experience People To Do Ofori-Atta's Work' - NPP MP Tells Akufo-Addo

The Member of Parliament for Subin constituency, Eugene Boakye Antwi, has questioned why President Akufo-Addo insists on keeping the Finance Minister when there are equally competent people to do his work.

The President despite numerous calls to fire his Finance Minister, insists he has confidence in him to discharge his duties especially leading the IMF negotiation.

However, on Tuesday, some NPP MPs took the calls for resignation to another level saying they will boycott Government businesses if Ken Ofori-Atta and Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, Charles Adu Boahen are not sacked.

Emphasizing their demand in an interview on Peace FM's 'kokrokoo' programme, the Subin lawmaker said: "we have many competent and experience people in this party and in parliament to do the job that Ken Ofori-Atta is doing . . . What has someone learned, what exposure does one have that others do not?"

"If the President doesn’t know we can give him the names of such competent people; we are tired. If he (President) had heeded to our initial calls, we wouldn’t have held the Press conference. The President needs us and we also need him…Without Ken we cannot manage this economy? He’s not the only person who can manage the affairs of this country” Eugene Boakye Antwi added.
