With the overarching policy of INFORM TO REFORM, Vida has clearly indicated to the Legon students how she believes information is Power and her belief that anytime a group of people are well informed, they become powerful, contribute more to the growth of the group and make the group stronger.

Her objective is to make the UG SRC more vibrant through reforms geared towards making every student interested in what goes on at the SRC Union Building and making their voice count in decision-making.

VIDA MINTAH has outlined 5 major policies so far and she captures them as below;

My Vision is carved around the basic principle that INFORMATION is POWER and I am of the firm belief that information gives one the control and power over their own affairs. That power is what I believe every member of the UG SRC must Have and that is why I am promising the Inform To Reform Policy, a solemn pledge I make to the University of Ghana community.

POLICY NO. 1: CREATION OF A WEBSITE AND MERGING WITH A UGSRC APP

Information will be at the fingertip of every student and at a click of a button. All UGSRC-related content will be on a web portal to enable students access information at will and at their own pace. This web portal will consolidate all student-related information and news for their consumption.

In addition to the Web, portal will be the UGSRC Students APP which will run on both android and IOS and will be an APP providing News, Updates and also taking feedback from students for redress.

POLICY NO. 2: STANDARDIZED SHUTTLE FARE FOR UNIVERSITY OF GHANA STUDENTS; ACCRA CITY CAMPUS INCLUSIVE

Working with the University and Shuttle Management, an annual Standardized Shuttle Fare will be instituted for all students to enable every student to access the Shuttle for FREE. This policy is to ensure all students including Accra City Campus students use the shuttle for Free without having to look for money on daily basis to pay. A very small fee will be agreed upon and incorporated into the tuition fees for all students. A major social intervention policy that will go to help the needy and the rich.

POLICY NO. 3:

DISSEMINATING INFORMATION VIA THE TV AND LED SCREENS

POLICY NO. 4: THE SRC TITBIT SERIES

As constitutionally mandated of the UGSRC General secretary, this initiative would bring to bear the activities of the UGSRC through a monthly brief on radio Universe and a dialogue with colleague students. Where I will provide a monthly update to the student community and open the phone lines to receive feedback and complaints from students so they can be addressed.

POLICY NO. 5

As a means of disseminating information to students, all notice boards will be refurbished at the JCR and Departmental levels. This will be done in collaboration with the JCR and Departmental Executives. All other notice boards meant for students will be refurbished and activated. The SRC will utilize part of its budget for this project as well as sponsorships from corporate organisations.
