NLA To Mark 60th Anniversary On Thursday, September 29

The National Lottery Authority (NLA) will on Thursday, September 29, 2022 mark its 60th anniversary.

According to the Director General of the Authority, Sammy Awuku, the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, will grace the occasion.

Touching on the programme outline for the anniversary, Mr. Awuku noted that the "actual celebration will be from the 7th to the 10th of December".

"We are expecting about 15 African countries in Ghana from the 7th to the 10th, then on the 8th, we will do the seminar on responsible gaming. Then, on the 9th, they will join the NLA bigger community to have the NLA at 60 durbar which will be presided over by His Excellency the President and then we can have an ALA awards event on maybe the 10th. These are all partnership between us and the African lottery body but before then, we are taking steps to make sure that Ghana is certified by December for responsible gaming", he expounded.

He added that the NLA will also use the opportunity to "bring the world lottery body also down to Ghana to help showcase what we have been able to do in the last 60 years".

He said this during an interview on Peace FM's morning show "Kokrokoo".
