#NPP DECIDES: JFK Floors JB...Ntim's Time Finally "Aso" (VIDEO)

Shocking defeat, near-upsets, and rapturous jubilation occasioned the climax of the National Delegates Conference of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Themed; "Holding Together, Working Together", the delegates conference at the Accra Sports Stadium saw the election of the next crop of national executives expected to lead the ruling party in the 2024 General Elections.

At the end of a rather exciting and a near-incident free delegates conference, the biggest upset on the night was the trouncing of incumbent General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu by the candidate affectionately called JFK.

He lost by over 300 votes to the Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Justin Kodua Frimpong (JFK)

According to official EC results, JFK grabbed 2837 votes as John Boadu polled 2524 out of total valid votes of 5535.

Iddrisu Musah Superior polled 104 votes, Ramseyer Agyemang-Prempeh garnered a paltry 8 votes whiles 50 delegates voted for Frederick Opare-Ansah.

"Time Aso" Indeed!

On the National Chairman front, "Time Aso" is now the new slogan in town.

"Time Aso" - to wit - it is time, aptly encapsulated events at the conference in respect of Stephen Ayensu Ntim who takes over the National Chairmanship position of thegoverning NPP.

The former First Vice Chairman of the party, Stephen Ntim has since becoming a founding member of the NPP been a pivot within the party, marching it to victory, thus it appears as no surprise that the delegates this time around overwhelmingly bought into his vision.

At the end of the contest, he polled 4014 votes. His closest challenger Stephen Asamoah Boateng polled 1010 votes. Mr George Kwabena Abankwah-Yeboah garnered 294 votes. 44 delegates voted for Gifty Asantewa Ayeh, aka Daavi Ama, and as Sammy Crabbe polled 32 votes, Professor Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi had 101 votes, while Akwasi Osei-Adjei polled 20 votes.

Lucky Nana B?

Another contest that generated interest especially during the collation was who gets the nod to be the NPP's National Organizer.

Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover gave a good account of himself, however, it was not meant to be his day. He nearly caused what would have been perhaps the biggest upset on the day, but was defeated by Henry Nana Boakye

As Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover garnered 2274 votes, Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B) polled 2870 votes. The other candidates; Bright Essilfie Kumi had 137 votes, Seth Adu-Adjei 25 votes, Eric Amoako Twum 185votes and Nana Owusu Fordjour 44 votes.

Kate, No Size

The incumbent National Women's Organizer of the NPP, Kate Gyamfua, showed she cannot be trifled with and has made that position her bonafide property. She cemented her name in the party's history books after she was massively re-elected to lead the women's wing.

Out of a total of 661 votes, Kate Gyamfua, popularly called "Mama Kate", polled a staggering 620 representing 93.78% to beat her competitors in the persons of Hajia Sawudatu and Ellen Ama Daaku who got 32 representing 4.84% and 9 representing 1.36 percent votes respectively.
