2022 NPP Delegates Conferenceā€¦.A Sea Of Red, Blue And White (VIDEO+PHOTOS)

The nation’s Wembley, Accra Sports Stadium, is currently draped in a sea of red, blue and white as the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) goes to the polls to elect party national executives at its National Delegates Conference.

A giant stage flanked on both sides by an impressively crafted African Elephant – the symbol of the NPP - has been set up in the middle of the pitch. Additionally, several line array speakers have been mounted on and around the stage.

Huge banners adorn the stands and terraces directing delegates from across the 16 regions on seating arrangements.

This is also to ensure that when the voting process begins it will proceed smoothly.

Meanwhile, Peacefmonline is reliably informed that the Electoral Commission will set up 26 voting centres to speed up the voting.

More than 6,700 delegates from across the country are expected to converge at the Stadium to participate in the exercise today.

Aside the sea of NPP colours draped around the pitch, another visible feature is the elaborate security in place. Virtually every inch of space has the presence of either personnel from the Ghana Police Service or military. Perhaps to deter any miscreant from operating.

Earlier, Director of Operations at the Office of the Presidency, Lord Oblittey Commey announced that all delegates and aspirants have been given special accreditation, and cautioned that persons who do not have such accreditation would not have access to the inner perimeter of the Stadium.

Whiles the stadium is awash with NPP colours, its periphery is a beehive of activity for food vendors and vendors of party paraphernalia engaging in brisk business.
