65th Independence Anniversary: ‘Let Us Cherish Fearless Honesty’ - Atta Mills Institute Charges Ghanaians

The Atta-Mills Institute has joined the millions of Ghanaians to commemorate the 65th Independence anniversary of Ghana.

The Institute, celebrating Ghana at 65, charged the citizenry to uphold the words in the national anthem and live daily by these tenets.

At 65, let us commit ourselves to ensuring that we “CHERISH FEARLESS HONESTY”, in order for “GOD TO BLESS OUR HOMELAND GHANA AND MAKE OUR NATION GREAT AND STRONG”. Let us also never forget to say “ I PROMISE ON MY HONOUR TO BE FAITHFUL AND LOYAL TO GHANA MY MOTHERLAND”.

Also in loving memory of the late President John Evans Atta Mills, the Institute congratulated the “the national male and female hockey teams for qualifying for the 23rd edition of the Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham, United Kingdom, from July 28 – August 8, 2022”.

The astute and ardent hockey player that he was, as Vice President, and also as President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Evans Atta-Mills, changed the face of Ghana hockey by supporting the construction of the first ever water-based Astro-turf hockey pitch in Ghana in 1999, and an ultra-modern world-class National Hockey Stadium was built in 2009.

“The improved facilities and greater attention to the game of hockey has brought the nation many successes – and we are grateful to the Ghana Hockey Association for keeping the flame alight”, a
statement signed by Founder and President of the Institute, Koku Anyidoho further read.
