Coup: As An Intellectual, Is This What You Have To Say? - Charles Owusu Stings Atuguba

Former Head of Monitoring Unit at the Forestry Commission, Charles Owusu, has joined political pundits who are panning the Dean of the University of Ghana Law School, Professor Raymond Atuguba over his comments at a forum held by Solidare Ghana.

Prof Atuguba said; “we do not want coup in this country but if we do not act quickly we may have one in our hands. There is one thing to do now, prevent coup in Ghana since the climate and the environment, national and immediate international, are conducive for one. We must compel the government to acknowledge the current economic mess, they mostly, and previous governments, to a larger extent."

Charles Owusu speaking to the issue on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo' wondered why Prof Atuguba is walking free because, "if an ordinary person had made this statement he or she would have been arrested immediately".

" . . but because he is a learned person, it is being explained with big grammar. If there's hardship in the country and you have been called to express your view as an intellectual, this is what you have to say?" he questioned.
