We Can’t ‘Break The 8’ With Lackadaisical Attitude - Addai-Nimoh Tells NPP

A former Member of Parliament for the Asante Mampong constituency Francis Addai-Nimoh doubts if the New Patriotic Party (NPP) indeed wants to ‘break the 8’ as their agenda for the 2024 election.

To him, the party is rather preparing its grounds to be in opposition – he is also worried about how party internal issues are being handled in recent times.

Addai-Nimoh was commenting on the ‘fight outbreak’ over the party nomination forms across the country.

It took armed police officers deployed to the Manhyia North Constituency office of the NPP to calm the situation after chaos erupted during the distribution of nomination forms.

Some party members alleged that the constituency executives gave preferential treatment to other party members in the distribution of the forms while others protested a decision by the executives to sell out the forms to them after the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP paid for the forms.

This approach according to Addai-Nimoh contributed to NPP’s shocking MPs election in the 2020 elections.

“We don’t learn from our experiences,” he said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.

Adding that “If we want to ‘break the 8’, we have to stop this careless attitude”
