The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party will appear in court today over his claims that former President John Mahama is involved in a coup plot.

Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC following an invitation, reported himself to the Greater Accra Regional Police Command to assist in investigations and was subsequently arrested and detained on Tuesday.

He was charged with two counts of publication of false news and offensive conduct conducive to the breach of peace.

According to the police, preliminary investigations showed that Abronye's claims against the former President, are untrue.
