NDC Youth Beg Mills And Rawlings To Reconcile

Over three hundred NDC youth from all parts of the country besieged the Castle, Osu on Tuesday May 31, 2011 to plead with President Mills to initiate moves to bring about a thawing of the cold relation between the NDCs current leader and the partys founder, Former President Jerry John Rawlings. The youth, who wore party T- shirts with the inscription NDC Unity Now, said the continued bad blood between the two leading men of the party was dividing the party and hurting its chances in the 2012 presidential and parliamentary elections. The group fell to their knees in unison immediately they saw the president and began passionately beseeching Prof Mills to let bygones be bygones. The president spoke for a little over a minute with them before heading to the Eastern region. The group then moved to the office of former president Jerry Rawlings where his representative assured them of action on their plea. In an interview with Citi News, the Coordinator of the Group, Mahamude Mohammed said their move is to ensure that the party unites ahead of the Sunyani congress slated for July this year. When both parents at home have a problem, when you go to daddy in the morning you say daddy Im on my knees, I want you to be able to resolve this issue with mummy and when you go to mummy you do the same. "We want to add our voice to the call for reunion between the current leader President Mills and the founder former President Jerry Rawlings. "Our plea is simple, our leaders have a quarrel and we dont want to know who is right or wrong because theyre both right and wrong so we just want to prompt mediation. Were appealing to them that whatever they do should be in the interest of the party.
