NDC Youth Threaten Mayhem

The NDC Maligu youth group in Walewale are threatening to make the area ungovernable if the vacant West Mamprusi District Chief Executive position is given to a former DCE called Gumah Naatogmah. The Maligu youth group is accusing an oil dealer, Abuba Sayibu, whose company name is Nasona Limited, of using money to convince some power brokers at the Presidency to nominate the former DCE for the vacant post. The West Mamprusi District Chief Executive position was declared vacant following the dismissal of Lord Abudu Zakariah who was fired largely because of what appeared to be the bad blood between him and the NDC constituency executives as well as some party supporters. Four persons -Gumah Naatogmah, Issifu Aziz, Abubakari Mumuni and Moses Sampah, the NDC constituency Secretary - are vigorously lobbying for the vacant position. At a news conference in Walewale, Iddrisu Munkaila, the groups secretary threatened that the area will experience major political turbulence if the former DCE Gumah Naatogmah succeeds in his bid. He claimed Mr Naatogmah was fired during the tenure of former President Rawlings because of his incompetence. Iddrisu Munkaila suggested that President Mills nominates somebody from among the youth who can unite the party for victory in 2012.
