Akufo-Addo 'Abandoned' By Two Deputy Chiefs Of Staff At The Presidency

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo has been "deserted" by two of his able-bodied lieutenants.

At the presidency, two of his hardworking deputy Chiefs of Staff, Mr. Francis Asenso Boakye, and Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor vied for Parliamentary seats in the Ashanti and Savannah Regions.

The two gentlemen who were appointed as deputies to Madam Akosua Frema Opare as Chief of Staff in 2017, by Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo have decided to be in Parliament instead of the Jubilee House this time around.

To begin with, Mr. Francis Asenso Boakye retained the Bantama seat in the Ashanti Region for the ruling New Patriotic Party.

Mr. Asenso will be replacing Hon. Daniel Okyem Aboagye, who lost his bid for re-election to the August House to Francis Asenso Boakye during the NPP primaries. On 7th January 2021, Asenso will be sworn in as Member of Parliament for the Bantama (Florida) constituency.

The other notable absentee is Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor. He is also on his way to Parliament, and will represent the people of Damongo come January 7, 2021.

Samuel Jinapor defeated incumbent NDC Member of Parliament Hon. Adam Mutawakilu, who was the Ranking Member of Mines and Energy Committee in Parliament,

Interestingly, Lawyer Abu Jinapor will be joining his senior brother John Abdulai Jinapor in parliament; John who is an NDC member, is a former Deputy Minister of Energy, and incumbent MP for Yapei- Kusawgu constituency.

The two deputy Chiefs of staff have long been, the preferred choice of their respective constituencies, it did not come as surprise when both of them won their parliamentary elections.

The President will however have to find capable hands to fill the two positions to assist the Chief of Staff in the next administration.

We wish them well in their new endeavors and look forward to their replacement at the Jubilee House in 2021.
