Ghanaians Want NPP And NDC To Put Development Of Ghana First - President-Elect Akufo-Addo

The President-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo says he is determined to accomplish the task ahead for the new mandate reposed in him by Ghanaians.

According to him, Ghanaians through the results of 2020 general election has made it clear to the two main political parties [the ruling NPP and NDC] especially those in Parliament to ensure that the development of the nation is paramount.

“I am determined to accomplish the task ahead for this new mandate. Ghanaians have made it clear that NPP and NDC must work hard especially in Parliament to ensure the development of the nation,” the President-elect urged.

Addressing the media from his Nima residence after pronounced the winner of the 2020 general election by the Electoral Commission, the President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo said that Ghanaians want peace and unity to reign in the country.

He noted that his victory for the second term will not make slow the pace to deliver his promises to Ghanaians as many will expect from him as he will not contest again.

He stressed that he will rather continue to work hard for the development of the country as he is a different character who will not relent on his effort to deliver his promises to the Ghanaian people.

He, however, expressed his gratitude to Ghanaians for the victory he and his running mate chalked in the just ended 2020 general elections.

He thus expressed his appreciation to all NPP members who worked tirelessly to ensure victory and praised the Electoral Commission for its crucial role.

He patted the Ghanaian media at the back for the excellent job they put up in the just ended 2020 general elections.

“The praise of the nation goes to the media for the excellent job done in the general election,” he praised.

He, therefore, condemned the electoral violence which happened in some places leading to the death of some people; charging political leaders to conduct themselves in decorous.

“We must work to avoid repetition of this incident of electoral violence leading to deaths of some people. Let’s continue to conduct ourselves in a decorous manner,” he cautioned.
