Show Ghanaians The Illegal Ballot Papers - Kabilla Dares NDC

Former General Secretary of the Convention People's Party (CPP), James Kwabena Bomfeh has challenged the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to prove their accusations against the Electoral Commission with regards to the printing of ballot papers.

The NDC has accused the Electoral Commission of printing ballot papers in excess of 150000 and also raised concerns about one of the firms printing the ballots.

The opposition party is concerned with the EC allowing the Assembly Press, headed by a known member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), to print the papers.

In a press release, the EC has debunked the NDC claims and set the record straight.

''The Electoral Commission finds it difficult to understand why the NDC would seek to cause fear and apprehension around a transparent and open process such as the printing of ballots. This is unacceptable...The Commission assures the citizenry that each ballot paper will be accounted for. Not one ballot paper will be included in a package that has not been accounted for. This will not happen. Our processes are open, transparent and robust and will remain so", the EC stated.

James Kwabena Bomfeh, also called Kabilla, has dared the NDC to produce the illegal ballot papers they claim the EC has printed.

''I am ready, as a student of elections, they should let us know where the illegal papers are being printed'', he said on Peace FM's ''Kokrokoo''.
