Okada Brouhaha: Let’s Embrace Ideas; Not Vile Promises From Mahama – Mame Yaa Aboagye

Deputy Communications Director of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mame Yaa Aboagye says the NDC Presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama’s promise to legalize the commercial motorcycle business popularly called “okada” is extremely shocking.

To her, Mr. Mahama’s okada promise is to compromise the safety of Ghanaians in exchange of votes.

This will only happen under a visionless and ambiguous leader who has no alternative to create jobs for the youth but ready to deceive them with a calculated agenda to amass votes to please his selfish interest.

What I know is Mr. Mahama lacks the vision to come up with clear cut ideas to create jobs for the youth. We all know the 1 million jobs promise is a hoax…even though it was captured in their 2016 Manifesto but still he has no concrete plan to get it done and wants to deceive the youth in the name of legalization of Okada to compromise their safety…its greedy and selfish, he is self center… The truth is, he has no strategic plan to create his promised jobs since he lacks the ability to generate such ideas. Let’s embrace ideas and not vile Promises”, she said.

Mame Yaa, on the other hand, touted President Akofo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia’s achievements and was optimistic they will do more good works in their next term of office.

You are rest assured you have a visionary leader like President Akufo-Addo who has reduced unemployment drastically and still delivering on his promises to create more jobs for the youth. The Planting for Food and Jobs programme is on course, the National Builders Corps (NABCO) programme fully working, the Community Mining Initiative, One Village, One Dam initiative, One District One Factory among others…when it comes to job creation, we have been consistent and still delivering on our promises”, she averred.

She appealed to Ghanaians to vote against the candidature of Mr. Mahama in the December 7 polls.
