Sammy Gyamfi ‘Fights’ Deputy Minister Over Bawumia's “Deceitful” Presentation

Sammy Gyamfi has criticized the ruling government for claiming credit for projects commenced under the erstwhile Mahama administration.

He said even though the projects are being constructed by the ruling government, the Mahama administration signed the contract and acquired funds for three of the projects; “and that is the most difficult aspect; so if someone did the difficult aspect and you come to continue with the construction do you claim credit for it?”

"Three of these interchanges that they claim is theirs was started by former President Mahama; Pokuase interchange; 39.2m Euros was approved by parliament; Obetsebi $83.6m was approved in 2016 and that of Tema $65m" adding it's deceitful for the Vice President to claim credit.

However, the Deputy Minister for Monitoring and Evaluation, Williams Kwasi Sabi refuted claims by the Communications Officer that the Vice President peddled falsehood.

“The Vice President admitted that the Pokuase interchange was inherited at the negotiation stage, but we did a renegotiation to a four-tier interchange at the same cost. So the Vice President did not lie,” he stated.

However, Sammy Gyamfi replied saying changing the project from a 'three-tier to four is neither here nor there'.

Both were speaking in an interview on Neat FM's ‘Me Man Nti’ programme.
