NPP Has No Intention Of Rigging Dec 7 Polls - Buaben Asamoa Replie Mahama

The Communications Director of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Buaben Asamoa says the NDC’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama is gradually calling for mayhem in the upcoming December 7 polls.

The former President has charged supporters of his party in the Volta region to ensure that they protect ballot boxes at their polling stations in the December polls to prevent rigging.

He claims happenings at the just ended voter registration exercise is an indication of the ruling NPP’s agenda to rig win the 2020 polls at all cost.

He backed his claims with the shooting incident involving Special Development Minister Hawa Koomson and the Ayawaso West Wougon election.

“ . . You have the opportunity to change that and you can only change that if you’re able to vote, and so you must not allow anybody to disrupt that voting procedure in your polling station branch and make your vote not to count.”

“And so, let’s us all commit to peaceful elections and I know that if the elections are peaceful, free and fair, NDC would be victorious in the election,” Mahama said while addressing residents of Mepe in the North Tongu constituency on a four-day campaign tour of the Volta region.

Speaking on Citi FM’s Eye Witness News, Mr. Buaben Asamoa cautioned Mahama’s path of campaigning after insisting that the NPP has no intention of rigging the next election.

“He should be serious," he said.

Mr. Buaben Asamoa also rubbished claims that the NPP is preparing its vigilante groups ahead of December 7.

“We don’t have any groups in our party,” he maintained.
