We Did Not Vote For Akufo-Addo To Be A 'Pastor' Over Us - Charles Bissue

Secretary to the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM), Charles Bissue says he can't understand why members of the largest opposion NDC keep harassing the first gentleman of the land from enjoying his peace of mind to perform his task assigned him.

Speaking on UTV's 'Adekye Nsroma' newspaper discussion programme, he stressed that President Akufo-Addo showed the best leadership pace by isolating himself when he realized he has been exposed to Coronavirus, yet with this great example members of the NDC are still reading political meanings into it.

" . . We did not vote for him (President Akufo-Addo) to be a Pastor over us but rather to manage the affairs of the state as he is doing each day," he said.

He said he does not understand the daily agitations of the NDC against the President's precautionary measures to fight COVID-19 because they have problems with every step taken, yet they are the same people who talk but never suggest any positive measure.

"The President is in power by political means so what is wrong if he uses political strategies to solve problems faced by the nation?" he rhetorically asked.
