President Mills will travel to the Western Region on Tuesday May 17 as he resumes his national tour to inspect and commission projects in the region. The president�s last regional tour was in the Ashanti region in April.
The Director of Communications at the Presidency, Koku Anyidoho has meanwhile dismissed claims by supporters of his opponents for the NDC flagbearership that the tour is just a cover for a campaign tour ahead of the party's Sunyani congress. He told Citi News president Mills was only discharging his constitutional mandate to inspect, commission and cut the sod where necessary for work to begin on projects that would improve the lives of the citizenry.
"President Mills is going out there to work and do what he�s done when he visited the 5 other regions. As for speculations and other things, a lot would be said but the President is only out there to work�.
The working visit will see the President in the, Southern, Central and Northern parts of the Region.
The President will be back in Accra on Friday, May 20, 2011, and depart the next day to Yamoussoukro, Cote d�Ivoire, for the investiture of President Alassane Ouattara.
