Nana Konadus Nomination Forms Endorsed

The Nana Konadu Campaign Team says the former First Lady's nomination form has received the needed endorsement from various executives of the party nationwide, signalling support for her amongst the partys core members. The camp of the former First Lady, who is viewed as President Atta Mills main contender for the NDC's flagbearership slot, had claimed earlier that they were being frustrated in getting their forms endorsed. They alleged intimidation and bribery on the part of President Mills camp in an apparent attempt to thwart the ambitions of the President of the 31st Womens Movement. In the Jirapa Constituency in the Upper West Region, there was a misunderstanding as Nana Konadus team sought to get her forms endorsed. But the former first family's spokesperon, Mr. Kofi Adams, has told Citi News that despite these challenges, the team has been successful in getting Nana Konadus forms endorsed. He explained that the Jirapa incident was only an expression of the peoples anger towards the behaviour of some constituency executives. He denied claims that they were intimidating the delegates, adding that it was rather elements in Government who have threatened constituency executives that they would lose their contracts and appointments at the various assemblies, if they endorse Nana Konadus forms. There is no difficulty in terms of endorsing the forms. Its not only delegates that are supposed to endorse the forms. The delegates have assured us that they will give us their votes but they dont want their names to be on the sheet Mr. Adams said. Meanwhile, the campaign vehicle of President Mills, the Get Atta Mills Endorsed (GAME) team has denied claims that its members have asked some constituency executives to frustrate and intimidate members of the Nana Konadu campaign team. The Spokesperson for the GAME, Barbara Asamoah, described the allegations as mere fabrications calculated to court public sympathy. If the person has already declared support for one person and he tells you that 'I have already declared support for someone so I cannot endorse your form,' I dont think delegates have to be told to say this. We have not told anybody not to sign Konadus forms. The people have already committed themselves by supporting Professor Mills. We are not intimidating anybody and we wont intimidate anybody. All these allegations are just to divert attention from what we are doing but we are focused on our campaign she said. All three contestants, Dr Ekwow Spio Garbrah, Professor Mills and Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, have up to June 1 2011, to return their forms fully endorsed for the Sunyani primaries scheduled for July 8-10.
