Opposition Political Parties Send Goodwill Messages To NPP At Its National Delegates Conference

Some minority political parties on Sunday presented goodwill messages to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) at its 2019 National Delegates Conference taking place at the Trade Fair Centre, La, Accra.

They included; the Progressive People's Party, Peoples National Convention, Convention People's Party, Liberal Party of Ghana, National Democratic Party and National Democratic Congress.

They commended the ruling NPP government for some of the positive social interventions it had implemented so far, which has alleviated poverty and economic deprivation.

Mr Boamah Otukonor, the Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, for instance, said politics should be a contest of ideas and not to tear themselves apart.

He said the common enemy for all the parties should be poverty, hunger, corruption and mismanagement.

He lauded some of the ruling government's policies like the Free Senior High School policy and wished it succeeded so that in the event that the NDC assumed power in 2021, it would continue.

He called for peace and harmony among all Ghanaians so that the nation would progress and achieve its aspirations.
However, he said some of the ruling government's policies led to economic hardships and joblessness and condemned seeming siege of press freedom and harassment of some national executives of the NDC.

He saluted the NPP for the excellent organization of the national delegates’ conference.

About 6,000 delegates are expected at the conference on the theme "We have performed better: Four More to do more"
