NDC Has No Record In Fighting Corruption – NPP

General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has fired salvoes at the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for tagging the Akufo-Addo government as corrupt.

"A party which paid lip service to the fight against corruption cannot accuse the NPP of doing nothing", John Boadu fired back at the NDC.

His comment was in response to the NDC’s claim that corruption under President Nana Akufo-Addo is unprecedented.

NDC General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia said the President has lowered the bar in the fight against corruption.

But the NPP Chief Scribe, addressing a press conference in Accra Wednesday, found the opposition party's assertion risible noting that corruption under the regime of the NDC was unrivaled in Ghana since independence.

John Boadu cited how President Akufo-Addo acts swiftly on corruption allegations against his appointees and also stated that the establishment of the Office of the Special Prosecutor, passage of the Right to Information Bill among others are enough attestations that the NPP is committed to making corruption unattractive in government.

When it comes to the NDC, Mr Boadu, said their best attempt to fighting corruption is having culprits reassigned to the Presidency to milk the State.

“NDC has no record in dealing with corruption,” he fumed.
