Soldier In 'Drop That Chamber' Saga: ...Jeff Konadu Schools Osahene Boakye Gyan

The Eastern Regional Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jeff Konadu has educated one of the architects of the June 4th uprising, Major (RTD) Osahene Boakye Gyan.

According to Mr. Konadu, Major Boakye Gyan is naive when it comes to issues of social media.

Major Gyan in an interview on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Programme stated that although ‘drop that chamber’ soldier erred, 90 days is too much of a punishment because he believes social media has not yet been considered in the rules and regulations of Ghana Armed Forces Media and that posting information there is not involuntary.

But Mr. Konadu reacting on the same platform explained that it is untrue that social media is involuntary because one has to download the app whether Facebook, whatsapp, twitter without anyone forcing you to do so.

“I do not agree with Major Boakye Gyan saying that social media is involuntary and that the punishment of  ‘drop that chamber’ soldier was too harsh... He violated military’s rules hence his punishment and I expect as a former officer he should know better.

The military officers were right for punishing him for involving himself on something which is against their rules to sever as a deterrent for other officers to continue to stay neutral especially in politics,” he stressed.

Again Major Boakye Gyan also accused the  Akufo Addo-led government of doing nothing to help the youth of this country.

Mr. Jeff  Konadu reacted to that as well.
