New Parliamentary Chamber: Majority MP's Shouldn't Pretend - Kweku Boahen

Deputy National Communication Officer on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress [NDC], Kweku Boahen has stated categorically that he will not have any other word to explain the majority Members in Parliament than ‘hypocrites’ should they say they have no idea of the new parliamentary chamber.

According to him on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ newspaper discussion segment, majority members of parliament should desist being naïve of the matter when they know they are very much aware of the initiative.

“I know for a fact and on record that contractors have already been engaged to do an architecture work on the project, as well as some MP’s have been sponsored to visit other countries to access other Parliament houses in view of building a modernized type in Ghana,” he insisted.

He further added that, “it is for this reason that I refuse to accept the fact as is being claimed now that no majority member was in the known of the new chamber until it was speculated in the public domain.”

“If some financial means have been allocated to this project, authorities involved must be made to face the laws of the land for willfully causing financial loss to the state,” he angrily lamented.
