Govt Has a Greater Part To Play In Making Our Financial System Credible – Anim Piesie

Member of the National Democratic Congress [NDC] communication team, Bernard Anim Piesie has called on government to put up stronger but conducive measures relating to our financial systems in the country.

To him, lots of citizens easily fall to fake financial institutions claiming to double invested monies, because most of the investment and interest rates of the well-established and genuine financial institutions are not encouraging.

“I believe government has a greater part to play in making our financial system credible, conducive and trusted than what we see today,” he said.

Speaking on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ political discussion segment on the story involving the Founder and Leader of Zoe Outreach Embassy, Pastor Kelvin Kobiri who was attacked by angry customers of his investment company, Tikowre Capital, to demand their locked up capital, Anim Piesie affirmed that with such cases government has a part to play to desist such companies from operating or having the chance to operate in the Ghanaian system.

He further suggested “Government must put up a system that will prevent citizens from trusting in such fake companies, no matter how they brand themselves. This can start by increasing investing rates and as well minimizing amounts to be paid on loans”.

He noted that the Bank of Ghana under this government have claimed to be working under the laws of the land by merging and collapsing some weak banks which he believes could have been handled in a better way to keep those banks operating.
