Recent 'Dumsor' Just A "Blip" - NPP MP

Deputy Minister for Works and Housing and Member of Parliament for Subin constituency, Hon Eugene Boakye Antwi, says the challenges being experienced in the provision of continuous power supply is just a "blip" and has therefore asked Ghanaians for more time as government strives to solve the issue.

His comment follows recent reports of power outages in the country; a situation many have described as 'the return of dumsor'.

Even though evidence points to the fact that there is a load shedding, power Managers in the country insist, it is not.

Some pundits have advised the ruling government to accept there is a problem, explain to Ghanaians for them to understand and plan by it.

Others claim the current situation have to do with money, but the government insists it is due to technical challenges and that in twelve (12) days, things will go back to normal.

Speaking to this during a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', Eugene Boakye Antwi described it as a 'blip' and that he is confident his government will deal with it.

"NDC dumsor was over a four year period . . . we are trying to press the panic button if we claim dumsor is back. Moreover, it is not occurring in the entire country. We need to apologize to Ghanaians that we've got to this stage but it is not too late, we are going to fix it. We can't fix everything in one day; it is just a blip; we will fix it . . . for two years we have had stable electricity . . . let's wait for the 12 days and see what the Minister and his team will do. I know the situation in the Energy sector will change," he assured.
