The Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram constituency has condemned the 'fabricated' comments made by Bright Ernest Akomea popularly known as Double, a National Security operative.

Double appeared before the Emile Short Commission, Tuesday and debunked some of the claims raised in Sam George's testimony when he (Sam) took his turn at the Commission.

He also indicated that he broke the law twice and acted as a shield for the Ningo-Prampram MP when violence broke at the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency. (click to read)

Speaking in an interview on Citi Eyewitness news, Sam George said any 'fair-minded person' will see through the lies spewed by the man he thinks belongs to the Invincible Forces; a pro-NPP vigilante group.

It’s shocking that individuals can contrive and fabricate lies like what I witnessed when Double came before the commission. Anybody who is fair-minded will see that he was fabricating lies. He expressed concern that the Commission allowed him to fabricate lies he had been coached to say without pointing the facts to him.

‘Unauthorised’ people at VIP lounge

Double who is stationed at the VIP lounge of the Kotoka International Airport said the first law he broke for Sam George was when he allowed his (Sam George) visitors to use the VIP lounge even though they were not supposed to.

“He wanted his visitors to use the VIP Lounge although they were not authorized to do so, I helped them to pass through,” he said. (Click to read)

However, Sam George said "the VIP lounge is not controlled by an illiterate security operative"

Double is not the head of the VIP Lounge, Fred is, so if I needed any favour, I would be calling Fred or my protocol unit in parliament. I will not be calling an unlettered illiterate National Security Officer to do that job. Asserting that he helped my guest through the VIP lounge? my guest used the regular lounge; terminal three…(moreover), using the VIP lounge is a privilege I enjoy as a Member of Parliament

Double and Sam George's Clamped Car

Double broke the law for Sam George again a day before he (Sam George) appeared before the Commission. According to him, Sam George called him on his phone for help; his car was clamped for parking at a wrong place, and so once again he helped him out. (Click to read)

In response, Sam George said he would be surprised if the Commission gives any premium to the lies perpetrated by Double. He further asked the Commission to go for his call log from MTN "to see if I ever called double"

"I challenge double and the Commission to go to MTN to release my call log to see if I ever called double; I don’t even have his number. He claims he was a phone seller, yet he was able to tell the commission eight members of NDC force. Double was coached to come and give the testimony…his paymasters. Ask yourself why it took this long for Double to appear before the Commission. The Motorbikes (allegation) and others were all part of what he was told to come and say. Everything I have said has been corroborated by one person or the other

Asked if he will appear before the Commission again to correct the misconceptions, he said "I am not going to offer myself to the commission but if they invite me again, I will respond"
