Ofosu-Ampofo's Leaked Audio: "Ignore" Kwaku Boahen . . . I Don't Know What Tickled Him! - Chief Biney

Chief Biney, a Deputy National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), says Ghanaians should ignore the statement by the party's Deputy Communications Officer regarding the NDC National Chairman's leaked audio.

The Deputy Communications Officer, Kwaku Boahen in an interview on NEAT FM's "Ghana Montie", said the "party [NDC communication] members are very happy of what our Chairman said and we will do exactly that. What he said is dear to our hearts that is why we clapped for him during the meeting which was recorded and leaked".

He discounted claims that the leaked tape was altered, confirming the voice on the leaked audio as that of the NDC National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo.

Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo, in the purported audio recording, could be heard telling some party members to "wage a relentless war" against the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa.

Kwaku Boahen backed the utterances of the party's National Chairman saying the EC Boss is an NPP stalwart; "she wears their T-shirt at secret meetings. She does their [NPP] works for them as EC boss. We won’t sit and look at her. We have issues with her before her appointment as EC boss. She is not even fit for the position".

“Just as our Chairman said, we will unleash war against her. She is a member of the NPP. Nobody can shut us up,” he exclaimed.

But addressing the comments by the NDC Deputy Communications Officer, Chief Biney told host Kwami Sefa Kayi that people shouldn't attach importance to it.

He wondered what pushed Kwaku Boahen to make those utterances stating categorically that "you have to ignore it. I don’t know what tickled him to say such things”.
