A leading communications member of the opposition NDC, Chief Hamilton-Biney has advised the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), to as a matter of urgency, distance itself from Kennedy Agyapong’s damning utterances on the globally acclaimed investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

The Assin Central legislator on live TV stated that he has ordered the security capos at the Kotoka International Airport to prevent Anas from travelling.

He further described Anas as corrupt, evil and an extortionist for employing crude methods to bait people and record them as evidence of corruption.

Chief Biney, who is highly tipped to win the Deputy National Organizer slot of the opposition party, expressed his dissatisfaction with the ruling party’s failure to disassociate itself from the damning comments which has attracted nationwide condemnation.

According to him, the NPP’s inability to distance itself suggests and communicates total support of the MP’s threatening comments.

Explaining further, Chief Biney reminded the NPP that Ken Agyapong’s comments sharply "contradicts their (NPP’s) position to employ the Anas principle to fight corruption" in a statement issued by Nana Akomea, then Director of Communications on February 7, 2011.

He later cited comments by then Candidate Akufo-Addo during the live broadcast of IEA’s Presidential Encounter in Tamale on October 30, 2012 in which he promised to adopt the ANAS PRINCIPLE to combat corruption.

"....the party’s disciplinary committee ought to invite the legislator and call him to order or formally disassociate itself from the incessant attacks on Anas," Chief Biney maintained. 

The much-anticipated documentary, titled “Number 12,” is expected to be premiered in Accra on June 6 and is said to have captured many leading football officials, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi included, engaging in acts that confirm a long-held suspicion of massive corruption in Ghana football.

At the height of his leadership as the GFA President, Mr. Nyantakyi was the darling of the football community, revered and celebrated by many for his achievements.

He superintended over a golden era as Ghana’s Black Stars made it three times successively to FIFA World Cup tournaments, a World Youth Cup, among other achievements.
