NPP’s Acting Chief Scribe, John Boadu has challenged NDC’s Johnson Asiedu Nketia to apply for the Special Prosecutor’s job if interested.

To him, criticisms from the camp of the NDC on the designated Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu in recent times is ‘unreasonable’.

“I don’t see why Asiedu Nketia and his NDC members are against the nomination of Amidu. If he wants to be the Prosecutor, he should go ahead. Even if they need Mahama or Koku, they should tell us so we give them the post”, he noted in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.

Uncle JB as affectionately called in politics made this comment after the NDC asked Parliament to discharge its obligation on the vetting of Martin Amidu as Special Prosecutor devoid of the “shrill partisanship conduct” that greeted news after his nomination.

Amidu, widely known as ‘Citizen Vigilante’ will face parliament next week for vetting – but the NDC says he is not fit for the job.
In a communiqué issued by the ‘Umbrella’ fraternity and signed by its General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, indicated that, Amidu had earlier issued some threats to the party leadership and the party at large.

“We observe that after falling out with the NDC administration, Mr. Martin Amidu was allowed free rein to express his opinions without let or hindrance, something he did by openly castigating and issuing threats to the NDC and its leadership. We are not at all concerned, contrary to the insinuations of some that he should now be handed the full authority of state power to possibly pursue this agenda”, portion of the statement read. 

However, John Boadu said the NDC’s decision to criticize Mr. Amidu is borne out of hatred.

He believes Martin Amidu is independent-minded and cannot be influenced.
