Presby Moderator Pays Courtesy Call On Chairman Of The Church Of Pentecost

The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Right Reverend Prof. Cephas Narh Omenyo has paid a courtesy call on the Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, the Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah at the Church’s headquarters at La in Accra.

The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the ecumenical relationship between the two churches and for the new moderator to introduce himself officially to the Chairman of COP and the church in general after his election and induction into office.

Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah congratulated Right Reverend Prof. Cephas Narh Omneyo on his nomination, election and induction as the 17th Moderator of one of the oldest churches in Ghana.

Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah in a short speech expressed the need for leaders to uphold integrity and humility, accountability, unity and peace to enhance the socio-economic development of the country.

He assured that the COP would continue to collaborate with the PCG and support each other when the need arise.

Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah said one major problem confronting Ghana at the moment was the illegal mining known in local parlance as (galamsey) and therefore called on his counterpart to join the fight against the canker.

Right Reverend Prof. Cephas Narh Omenyo on his part commended Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyina on his exemplary leadership which had seen the Church of Pentecost moving in the right direction.

He further thanked him for his presence during his induction into office as the 17th Moderator of PCG in December 2016. The Moderator pledged that the two churches would continue to collaborate and also work hand in hand.

The Moderator was accompanied by Rev Kwaku Bio Kyeame, Director of Church Life and Nurture, Mr Alex De-Graft Hanson, Director of Finance, Rev George Ezekiel Larbi, Public Relations Officer, and Rev William Ameka, Personal Assistant to the Moderator.
