Step Out & Vote For Change - NPP Ablekuma Central PC

New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate for the Ablekuma Central Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Ebenezer Nii Narh Nartey in the late hours of yesterday said he would overrun the National Democratic Congress (NDC)  candidate, Alhaji Alidu in tomorrow’s parliamentary elections. “The mistakes of the last election will not be repeated, we are vigilant” he added.

“I know that a lot of money has changed hands ahead of tomorrow’s elections, but if we continue to motivate ourselves and mobilise our constituencies, victory is ours (NPP)”. He stated in an interview with the New Crusading GUIDE at his Mataheko residence.

Very optimistic about his party’s victory in the elections he Ghanaians have approached the eve of a moment where, if allowed the freedom to express their sovereign will, the people will cast off the yoke of bad governance, adding that “They will vote for a change that will usher in a new day for a new Ghana – right before our very eyes. I already see it. If you have compassion for this nation that gave birth to you, you will surely see it too”.

He noted that not all Ghanaians want is a change for the collective good. “A powerful, small few benefit from the unjust ways of today. They profit so much from present inequities. Hence, they view as a personal curse the change most of us would count as a national blessing.”

Mr. Nartey urged members of the constituency to go out in their numbers to vote for the change that the nation needs to move forward.

He accused the President and the NDC of wooing voters with money, undermining democracy, an action he said  is unbecoming of a democratically-elected leader of any country.

“When they should have worked diligently for the betterment of the lives of Ghanaians, they opted to work for themselves. When they should have served the people, they chose to serve themselves. Now they need the votes of the same people and, having realized they have not served them, they have decided to bribe them to get their votes. Ghanaians are not stupid.” He charged.

On the performance of the NDC in the constituency he said he was unimpressed by the performance of the outgoing MP, Theophelus Chai who he said had to chicken out of the race because of his bad record.

He said eight  years after he was elected, the constituency still has bad roads and poor drainage system, youth unemployment among other challenges - things he promised to fix in the area.

“ We had a sleeping MP who did nothing at all to beeter the lot of his constituency. We look like a neglected constituency and the good people are ready to vote for a change and I know this will be replicated in every constituency in the country” he said.

Going round campaigning in the constituency, the aspiring MP said he saw the level of despondency and disappointment in faces of the people saying “the people have accepted our message of change and they believe that we are we are determined to do in the next four years for the constituency and the nation is doable.”
