Christian youth urged to lead virtuous lives

Christian youth have been urged to lead virtuous lives that would help to positively influence and transform the society. Pastor George Kofi Kwarteng, Youth Director of the South Central Ghana Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church said they should also be honest and display socially acceptable lifestyles to encourage their peers to refrain from acts of indiscipline and other social evils. He described as worrying the soaring waywardness of the present generation of the youth in an address at the opening of a one-day Sports Festival for the youth of the Conference at Ejisu, near Kumasi. The Festival served as a platform for the young people to engage in physical exercises, socialize and interact among themselves. It also provided the youth with an opportunity to share experiences and the word of God with people of Ejisu and its environs. Pastor Kwarteng acknowledged that it was not easy these days for the youth to maintain strong Christian life in society but with dedication to succeed in life they can make it. He, however, noted that with deep-seated Christian principles and teachings they could influence their colleagues to become more responsible. The Youth Director called on the participants to commit themselves to the job of winning souls for Christ.
