KMA Considers Sixth Poll Today In PM Election

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly will today hold elections to choose the Presiding Member after five failed attempts.

The Assembly has been without a Metropolitan Chief Executive and a Presiding Member as efforts to elect one always ended in a deadlock.

Last week attempts by the KMA to vote for a PM was marred by violence as some Assembly members were involved in a fisticuffs.

The polls held Tuesday eventually failed to produce two thirds majority of the votes as required by law, hence the need to consider it for the sixth consecutive time.

Ahead of today’s polls, residents who say they could not put up with the drama anymore warned the assembly to produce a PM today or face their wrath.
