Fulfill Your Promises Effiduasehene Tells NPP Parliamentary Candidate

Aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary nominee for Effiduase-Asokore constituency, Dr. Afriyie Ayew, has been counseled by Nana Adu Ameyaw II, Chief of Effiduase to ensure all his promises would be fulfilled if he wins the seat to become the Member of Parliament (MP).

According to the Chief, previous MPs refused to honour their promises but that he does not expect the NPP candidate to do same when he is given the nod come December 7th.

‘’Your predecessors; including a former deputy Finance Minister under Ex-President Kuffour’s administration, could not help to develop Effiduase and its surrounding towns but I hope you will not do same,” Nana Adu Ameyaw II, told the NPP nominee and his entourage when he visited him.

The nominee together with some party executives paid a courtesy call on Nana Adu Ameyaw II and his elders at his palace to introduce himself as the candidate for the upcoming elections on the ticket of NPP and also seek permission to begin his campaign.

According to the chief, the NPP claims Effiduase is their stronghold but when they are elected, they perform abysmally and cautioned that trend must stop.

‘’If this constituency you are talking about is the root of NPP and a stronghold of your beloved party, why do you reject us and not fight for development as some parliamentarians do to grow their area in development’’,Effiduasehene asked.

Nana Adu Ameyaw further indicated that, Effiduase has been cited as a flash point as the police boss, including an election task force came to him to brief him on how they wanted peace to prevail in the coming elections since the town had been cited as a place that could likely record election violence.

“Tell your people to avoid insults and attacks, especially the Zongo communities because we have witness some violence during previous elections but this time around we are appealing to you to educate your supporters to stay away from troubles so that Ghana can continue to enjoy the peace that we have now”, he noted.

The chief and his elders further cautioned him to avoid giving excuses such as “my government is not in power and as a result from that, I can’t lobby to bring more developments to ease poverty and the poor conditions facing the constituency”.

Dr. Afriyie Ayew for his part, thanked the chief of Effiduase, Nana Adu Ameyaw II and his elders for a wonderful reception offered them and that, he and the constituency executives will organized a clean campaign devoid of insults and attack.

He revealed that Effiduase is at his heart and therefore would ensure if the people give him the nod including, his presidential candidate, Nana Akufo Addo, and that he will work to satisfy the constituents so that Effiduase as the stronghold of NPP will see many different colors.

At the event were the queen mother of Effiduase, various chiefs under Effiduase and some town folks.
