Ebi Bright Billboards Vandalized, Suspect Arrested

The Police in Tema are investigating a man believed to be vandalising billboards and posters of Ms Ebi Bright, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Tema Central.

A statement issued by the Campaign Office of the Parliamentary Candidate named the suspect as one Felix Ansah, a driver as the ring leader.

He has so far eluded efforts by the Tema Community 11 Police to arrest him after failing to respond to Police invitations to help in investigations.

The suspect, the statement claimed who was angered by Ms Bright’s freshly mounted billboard at ICGC, Community 12, on the dawn of Thursday, August 4 removed it and subsequently dumped it into a bush behind his house..

Billboards in the Constituency belonging to Ms Bright have been destroyed consistently over the past eight months by unidentified persons.

“In a genuine campaign to become the Member of Parliament of the Constituency and to speak the voice of the people in Parliament, this must not be part of the process. Let’s all play fair and be decent in this campaign,” Ms Bright said.

Ms Bright said: “Reports have been made to the Community 11 Police; we are appealing to members of our party, friends and family, not to retaliate or respond to this unprovoked attack.

“These are acts of hate and intolerance, which have no place in a unified and development seeking community.

“We are committed to an elevated campaign, devoid of violence and divisiveness, oppression or discrimination, and by the grace of God, come December 7, victory will be ours.”
