Last Saturday, the flag bearer of the Progressive People’s Party, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom added another novelty to his campaign by interacting LIVE with thousands of his fans on Facebook.
Dr Nduom being a social media-savvy presidential candidate, who runs his Facebook account himself with over 250,000 followers, is the first presidential candidate in Ghana to have effectively used the internet and social media to support his political campaign.
For one hour, he answered many questions some on serious topics such as the economy, job creation, provision of free education, social intervention programmes, clean environment and healthcare provision.
Dr Nduom who stands head and shoulders above his closest competitors, President Mahama and Nana Akuffo Addo started his campaign for president this month with the determination to use social media as an integral part of his campaign to enhance his electoral fortunes.
Recognizing that a Facebook presence has become part and parcel of any social media political campaign and one of the best ways to engage with potential voters and Ghanaians, the Nduom for Ghana communication office has created an interactive segment on Facebook to share Dr Nduom’s campaign activities with his fans.
Dr Nduom will engage Ghanaians in more of such social media engagements. He has given the assurance that when voted in as President, he will from time to time interact with the people and help them understand his policies so that together, they can transform this country to become a strong, prosperous one.
