PNC Running Mate Named

The Peoples National Convention (PNC), under the leadership of the renowned physician, Dr. Edward Nasigri Mahama, will soon unveil its running mate.

According to the Ho-based Global FM, reports reaching it indicate that, the PNC vice Presidential Nominee, will once again come from the Volta Region.

The new kid on the block, however, is an accomplished Economist, in the person of Emmanuel Anyidoho.

Emmanuel Anyidoho, hails from Tanyigbe in the Ho Municipality of the Volta Region.

The Volta Region, which is the World Bank of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), is attracting a lot of attention in this year’s election with all the political parties focusing on that region.

The NPP, is already chipping off some votes from the NDC’s votes. It has dragged many voters to Court, challenging their nationality claiming they are not Ghanaians.

It will be recalled that some few weeks ago, the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), also named a daughter of the Region, as its Vice Presidential Candidate.

The nominee, Bridgette Dzorgbenuku, who hails from Ve Koloenu, in the Afadzato South Constituency, was a former Ms Ghana queen

In 2012, the PNC, then led by Dr. Hassan Ayariga settled on a female from the region by name Helen Sanorita Dzatogbe Matarvi.

Four years down the lane the PNC is once again considering a running mate from the Volta Region.

For now chances are that the party, even though under a different Flagbearer, might maintain Madam Matarvi.

According to Global FM, its sources at the party’s Abavana junction-based headquarters, has told its news team that, even though the PNC is double sure of naming a Running Mate from The Volta Region, Madam Matarvi, is not on the card.
