Buabeng Asamoah Turns To God For Succour

In his quest to wrestle the Adenta constituency from the ruling National Democratic Congress in the December 7 general elections, Lawyer Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) visited the Jehovah Jireh Assemblies of God Church at Adenta Japan Motors near the lakeside estate to seek prayers and the help of God.

Addressing the congregation at the colourful occasion, Mr. Buabeng Asamoah who was surrounded by his party constituency executives said, “I am here today   to seek your support and prayers in this year’s presidential and parliamentary elections. I want to win the parliamentary seat and increase the vote margin of the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party in this constituency. I am here to seek your prayers. I want to wrestle power from the NDC and work towards the liberation of the people of Ghana and Adenta in particular from the hands of the NDC who have proven to be incompetent in the management of the country’s resources. I decided not to go anywhere but come to the house of God where I believe there is power and authority”.

The presence of the high-level NPP delegation brought smiles and excitement on the faces of the members of the church because it was the first time a parliamentary candidate had visited the church and the area to interact with them.

The head pastor of the Church, Reverend Dr Joyce Frimpong, in a statement, welcomed the NPP parliamentary candidate and commended him for coming to the house of God to seek the blessings of God to help him embark on a successful political campaign.

According to Reverend Dr Joyce Frimpong, because of power, many politicians have run to several places to place their hearts and souls under idols,   lesser gods and other powers of Lucifer in a bid to assume political office. “I thank God that you have realized the power of God and what God can do. I give you all the blessings from God to assist and protect you in your endeavor. It is our hope that you become successful in your endeavor. I also pray that when you get the nod never let any earthly act destruct your attention. Focus on the vision that you have for this constituency and God will continue to bless you”, he said.

Reverend Dr. Joyce Frimpong afterwards led the congregation to pray for Mr. Buabeng Asamoah and his constituency executives.

The Adentan constituency was carved out of the old Ashaiman constituency in 2004, through a constitutional instrument. It was first occupied by the NPP’s Kwadjo Opare-Hammond who won with over 900 votes. Opare-Hammond subsequently lost it to Kojo Adu Asare of the National Democratic Congress by nearly four thousand votes.

The NDC’s candidate in the 2012 general elections Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore retained the seat widening the margin by almost a thousand more votes defeating the NPPs Frances Asiam.
