Nana Addo Wont Scrap Galamsey NPP MP Aspirant

New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency, Hon. George Mireku-Duker, has stressed that an NPP-led government by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, will not scrap galamsey (illegal mining).

According to him, some communication members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) were misleading the public with propaganda that Nana Addo will scrap galamsey when voted into power.

He said the NPP when voted into power will regulate and streamline activities of both small-scale and illegal miners to ensure that people get jobs to do.

“It’s not our time that galamsey activities will be scrapped but we in the NPP will ensure that pragmatic measures are put in place to ensure that the activity of galamsey is done in a proper manner.”

“Don’t heed to the propaganda and falsehoods that the NDC are churning out because they have no message to tell Ghanaians since they have failed in the last seven years,” Mireku-Duker said.

Duker, who served as Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) during former President John Agyekum Kufuor era, said he was optimistic that the Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency members of the NDC will have no message against the NPP, asserting that there was no division in the NPP as it was being portrayed by the NDC.

“Now the falsehood of the NDC has come to an end. The Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency party faithful(s) of the NPP are much united than ever before, and I can tell you that the allegations that there were faction in the NPP are false”, he said.

The parliamentary candidate also promised to serve the good people of the constituency devoid of party colours.
