NDC's Campaign Launch Was Just A Show Of Affluence . . . - Nana Ofori Owusu

PPP Parliamentary candidate for Efutu, Nana Ofori Atta has expressed resentments over the ruling National Democratic Congress' (NDC) campaign launch over the weekend.

The NDC on Sunday launched its Election 2016 campaign at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in the Central Region.

The party's Presidential candidate for the December polls, President John Dramani Mahama was also outdoored together with his Running Mate, Vice President Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur.

In attendance at the event was also former President Jerry John Rawlings, leaders and delegates of the party as well as some Ghanaian celebrities.

Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Nana Ofori Atta believed the campaign launch was nothing but just a show of opulence by the NDC.

He wondered why President John Mahama could afford to spend millions of money on the campaign event but had to "deceive" Ghanaians that the country has run out of finances.

According to him, President Mahama has been preaching to Ghanaians to vote for his government into power to streamline the financial fabric of the country because the nation does not have enough money to improve infrastructure and other sectors of the economy.

“The NDC campaign launch is a powerful campaign launch. It’s a show of affluence . . . This launch is in millions.”

Nana Ofori Atta doesn't believe the President is telling Ghanaians the truth.

To him, there is no way the President can convince him that the nation doesn't have money because for his party to have been able to financially cater for about 16000 delegates means President John Mahama is throwing dust into the eyes of Ghanaians.

"President Mahama and the NDC have shown us that they really have money. They have cash. I was even shocked," he stated.
