NDC Supporters Threaten To Leave Party Over Preferential Treatment Given To Celebrities
Lately, our party is gradually turning out of gear, considering the less recognition given to us at the grass root. We worked tirelessly to bring the party back to power and then worked with same zeal to retain the party in power.
We have continually propagated the party's agenda, defended the party in all aspects. We do every mobilization at the grassroots and it hurts badly that our efforts are not recognized.
The only persons whose services are now recognized in the NDC are the celebrities who are only pledging their allegiance to the party whereas we are in power.
Sometimes we ask ourselves where these celebrities were when we were in opposition. They are now following the party and claiming they are members because we are in power!
What were their contributions to the party when we were in opposition? Why should they enjoy and get funds and support to carry out programs of their selfish interests whilst we suffer?
It's sad that the NDC is funding these stomach celebrities to campaign whilst grassroots supporters have been ignored. I want to believe the party knows that the chosen celebrities can’t do better than the grassroot when it comes to effective mobilization.
A lot of the youth groups are aggrieved because they are unemployed and are unhappy to learn about such development within the party. And some of them have regretted campaigning for the party, because the party has not recognized our hard work. Most of us are still jobless after 8 years in power and nobody cares about how we survive.
We have sent a lot of petitions to the leadership of our party but, none of our pleas have been met. It's sad that the only time they will look for our services is in the eve of the campaign and reject us after that period.
We could have equally quit the party too or stop defending our party as our other colleagues have. But, because of the love for the party we may have to still stay!
We only want to petition the president and leadership of our party that the grassroots supporters of the party equally deserve same monies and support the party is giving to those called celebrities like Dumelo, Mzbel, Tracy, Mr. Beautiful and even Akua Donkor of GFP.
We want him to know that these celebrities will not impact his campaign better than the numbers he has at the grassroots level.
It should be admitted that, the party risk losing the upcoming elections if nothing changes, because we are losing most of our hardworking grassroots supporters.
