Member of Parliament (MP) for Fanteakwa South constituency in the Eastern Region, Hon. Kofi Okyere Agyekum has emphatically stated that President John Dramani Mahama and his administration led this nation to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) due to their poor management of the economy.  

“President Mahama and his government placed this nation on the IMF policy because the economy was sick and needed to visit the hospital for medicine,” he said.

According to him, a well organized economy would never want to be on the IMF policy, since it has never been a friendly one to better conditions of a State.

Speaking on UTV’s morning show ‘Adekye Nsroma’, he asserted that the NDC claim they are changing lives transforming people, but to him that adage on the actual ground is ‘changing lives to poorer’ , for the reason that they have on several occasions more than 30% increased prices of electricity and water bills respectively and increased payments of workers by 10% “I don’t know how they want citizens to live by such wicked increases”.

“I am indeed surprised when members of the NDC declare their stands of winning this year’s elections upon their uncountable mess to the economy,” he told Lawyer Tweneboah Kodua host of the show.
