Nduom Clears Air On Involvement In Oguaa Fetu Afahye

Presidential nominee of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, has stated categorically that he is not in anyway involved or connected with preparations towards this year’s Oguaa Fetu Afahye.

“I wish to inform the Ghanaian public that I am not involved nor am I connected with preparations towards the 2016 Oguaa Fetu Afahye,” Dr. Nduom said in a statement issued by his office in Accra yesterday.

According to the statement, Dr. Nduom has not met nor held any discussion(s) with the Oguaa Omanhen or the Afahye Planning Committee or anyone even remotely connected with the festival.

“I do not know the owners of Cape FM or its management and have not been in talks with them with regards to the OrangeFriday event.  I am busy minding my own business – Groupe Nduom and Progressive People’s Party campaign,” the statement said.

Dr. Nduom, the statement said, holds the elders, youth and everyone in Cape Coast in high esteem, adding that as somebody who hails from Oguaa sister town-Edina, he “will not and cannot do anything to disrupt such an important festival.”

It called on those who for cheap political points to drag the name of Dr. Nduom’s into the mud to stop.

“Also, those who for political reasons want to drag my name into anything potentially negative going on in Cape Coast must cease and desist from such attempts as they will not succeed,” the statement warned.

Against this backdrop, Dr. Nduom wished the chiefs and people of the Oguaa Traditional Area an “enjoyable and successful Fetu Afahye festival.”
