Alban Bagbin Reveals His Biggest Regret In Life

The majority leader Alban Bagbin has revealed that his biggest regret in life is not joining the military.

“It is one of the regrets I have in life for not being part of the military,” Bagbin said in an interview with Starr News' Papisdaff Abdullah.

According to him, the military trains you to be disciplined and professional in your daily activities.

The former Health Minister is also recommending the introduction of military training for the president and politicians seeking higher office.

According to Bagbin, the exercise will enable the president carry out his constitutional mandate and make conclusions devoid of emotion and parochial limitations.

Ghana’s current arraignments does not sanction military training for the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces and President of the Republic.

But the Majority leader in Parliament, said training the president on security matters will help improve governance and management of the defense and security sector.

“In the political arena we have failed to train the leaders we elect, we just elect people to depend on their potential and abilities, but if we had, had time to even train politicians before they ascend the higher office, you would be more comfortable in the decisions that they take because you know that they are imbued with all the qualities that can take them away from passions, emotions and parochialism,” the NDC MP for Nadowli Kaleo said.
