APC Converge To Elect A Flagbearer

Delegates of the All People Congress (APC) have converged at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) to elect a candidate to contest the presidential race in the November general elections.

The delegates number over 3,000 will also elect their maiden national executives of the party to steer the affairs of the party for the next four years.

Nine national officers are expected to be elected in accordance with the Political Parties Law 2000 (Act 574).

Among the positions to be filled are the 2016 Presidential Candidate; the Leader/National Chairman; the 1st National Vice-Chairman; the 2nd National Vice-Chairman; the General Secretary; the National Treasurer; the National Organizer; the National Youth Organizer and the National Women Organizer.

The broom family was formed after its founder, Hassan Ayariga, a German trained accountant cum politician, broke away from the People’s National Convention following his defeat by Dr. Edward Mahama.

The APC claims it will elect the next occupant of the Flagstaff House by the close of congress, Monday, June 13, 2016.

The delegates are expected to affirm Mr. Hassan Ayariga as the party’s candidate for the November Presidential election having being the only person who picked and file his nomination forms.
