NPP Leaders Panic - As Robbers Attack Alan, Month After Dan Botwe

Information available to the New Statesman indicates that fear seems to have gripped some leading members of the opposition New Patriotic Party, following Sunday’s attacks on Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten.

Armed robbers yesterday burgled the residence of the former NPP presidential hopeful. The armed robbers made away with mobile phones, tablets, laptop and an undisclosed sum of money.

No casualties were recorded, but reports indicate that the robbers harassed Mr Kyeremanten and his family at their home in West Legon for a while before making away with the stolen goods. The Police are currently investigating the matter.

The attack comes just a month after the Member of Parliament for Okere in the Eastern region who doubles as the Minority Chief Whip, Dan Kwaku Botwe, was robbed at gunpoint by suspected armed robbers at his Tema residence.

“The robbers were three and when they broke and entered the room, one pointed a gun at him for 45 minutes while the others were busily looting everything in the room,” an Aid to Mr Botwe said at the time.

The Daily Statesman sources in the NPP indicate that with these two attacks coming after the gruesome murder of the former Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, “some panic seems to be developing among some our top members and I think the fear is justifiable.”
