Rampant Armed Robbery Attacks Making Ghanaians Live In Fear- Ohene Ntow

Former General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Ohene Ntow has bemoaned Ghanaians are living in danger with the rampant armed robbery attacks without overarching measures to tame the situation.

According to him, the fear in Ghanaians is escalating due to the fact that the security agencies, especially the police service after the incident has occurred is not able to conclude on its investigation to bring the perpetuators before the law.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show to explain the alarming situation Mr. Alan Kyerematen, former NPP Presidential hopeful and his family are going through after the armed robbery attack, he said the inability of the police to investigate thoroughly to bring justice to armed robbery victims put fear in the rest of Ghanaians.

Armed robbers attacked the residence of leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Alan Kyerematen, at West Legon.

Although Mr Kyerematen and his household were not hurt during the robbery last Saturday, the robbers are said to have stolen mobile phones, tablets, a laptop and an undisclosed sum.

But commenting on the incident, Nana Ohene Ntow said the series of attacks on Ghanaians and certain personalities, makes people to think in the direction of conspiracy theory, as there is a direct attack on certain class of people in the political arena, as police are unable to find lasting solution to the incidents happened so far.

“These recent armed robbery attacks is becoming a national security problem, because I can recall the attack on Afoko’s office, Dan Botwe’s house, Agric officer, the late J.B Danquah-Adu; all these incidents give room for worry as the police has not concluded on its investigations,” he bemoaned.
