'Antoa' Curse Scares NDC Delegates From Voting

Some National Democratic Congress delegates in Atebubu-Amantin constituency in the Brong Ahafo Region are refusing to cast their votes in the ongoing primaries for fear of their lives due to a curse on them.

Aggrieved supporters of the party whose favourite, Sampson Owusu Boateng, was disqualified to contest in the primaries, have invoked the "Antoa" deity on the delegates to scare them from voting.

The supporters say they will only reverse the curse if Mr Boateng, who is the District Chief Executive in the area, is allowed to contest in the primaries to stand the chance of representing the party in the constituency, our Regional correspondent, Larry Paa Kwesi Moses reported.

They want party officials to allow Mr Boateng to contest the sitting MP, Sanja Nanja, who is seeking a second term in the constituency.

Polls have consequently been characterised by voter apathy in the constituency. As at 12:35, only 100 out of the 10,413 delegates have voted. Meanwhile, voting is expected to end at 3:00PM.

Moses reports that most delegates are afraid of their lives due to the invocation of the 'Antoa' deity, hence unwilling to vote in the primaries.
