Mahama Will Lose 2016 Elections In W/R Without Our Preferred Candidate Evalue Gwira Youth

Despite the satisfactory remarks by the Chairman of the Vetting Committee, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo that the NDC is impressed with candidates in Western Region, the Concerned Youth of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Evalue Ajomoro Gwira Constituency are angry with the leadership of the party in the Western Region.

According to the angry youth, there is an attempt despite the successful vetting to disqualify their preferred candidate, Herbert Kuah Dickson, from contesting the incumbent MP, Hon. Kwaku Tanikyi Kessie, in the party’s upcoming parliamentary primaries.

They have advanced the threat to pay back the party by voting massively for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in both 2016 Presidential and Parliamentary elections should Mr. Dickson be disqualified from the race scheduled for November 7, 2015.

They claim that the Regional Chairman, Michael Aidoo, popularly known as Big Aidoo, and the Second Lady, Mrs. Matilda Amissah-Arthur, have connived to mastermind the party’s internal electoral process in favour of the incumbent MP whom they said have lost touch with the people.

The Concerned Youth of the area in a statement signed by Bukari Akansisey and released Tuesday said, Hon. Kessie has exhibited gross leadership failure in the constituency and therefore has brought the party’s image into disrepute.

For instance, they contend that the incumbent MP is not in control of the party in the area after sidelining all the executives in the constituency in whatever he does, preferring instead the old executives whom he considers helped him win the seat from the NPP.

This conduct by the MP, according to the youth group, has weakened the party’s structures in the constituency and has created huge division among members.

The MP is also reported to be not in good relation with the Municipal Chief Executive of the area, thereby, fueling tension among the party faithful.

Having lost touch with the people, Mr. Kessie, the group lamented, have turned to the Regional Chairman, Big Aidoo and the Second Lady, Mrs. Amissah-Arthur to ensure that he goes unopposed in the parliamentary primaries.

Therefore, much to their surprise, the vetting of the two candidates which was successfully carried out last week have been suspended by the party’s hierarchy in the region without any apparent reason.

“We are not happy with the pending issues regarding the suspension of the Evalue Gwira primaries. This has left we the youth traumatized and any attempt to the disadvantage of our interest will lead to disaster in the party,” noted the group.

They added “We will not only vote skirt and blouse for the Parliamentary but also vote for Nana Akuffo Addo if we are being imposed with a candidate that we are not given the chance to select and market ahead of the 2016 election. Mrs. Amissah-Arthur and Big Aidoe cannot force us to eat and swallow a rotten meat.”
